Field Trip to Cameron Art Museum

 Fifth grade field trip
by: Logan.K

It’s that time of year again, and field trips are starting.  All the Fifth graders at Ogden will be visiting the Cameron Art Museum.   Mrs. Gallagher’s class is first to go.  The trips started  November 14th and are going on through the 18th. They will see many beautiful art pieces and learn about the pieces.   They saw a shelf carved out of books and not only that but  a grand canyon made of books!

Once they got off the bus they got with their tour guides and went into the museum.   They first saw a book that had been carved into a garden.   They learned about how artists used old items like flour sacks and turned them into extraordinary things like clothes.   The class learned how to  decorate flour sacks. We asked on one of the students what piece was her favorite.  she said,” i really liked the grand canyon carved out of books.”

After that , they learned about the art in nature and saw wheat.  Once that was finished they saw all the Pillsbury dough boy  products.  When the trip was finished, they went outside and learned how an artist took junk and made it into something super cool.
